Along with an abundance of sunshine, beaches and attractions, a holiday in Turkey offers some of the best local cuisine. With street markets, cafes and restaurants offering freshly cooked Turkish delicacies, you do not have to go far to sample some of the country’s exquisite cuisine.

Many people start their day with a typical Turkish coffee, served in a small, thick dark cup. After adding the amount of sugar you desire, you can experience the exciting taste. Alcoholic drinks are also on offer, the national speciality drink is Raki, a delicious beverage made of anise and often referred to as the ‘lions drink’. There are also some fantastic local wines that are ideal for enjoying on one of the stunning beaches during your holiday to Turkey.

On the south west coast of Turkey lies the town of Anatolia, which offers its very own kebab speciality. Kebabs are one of the main dishes found in Turkey and are served either grilled or stewed, lamb is the most common meat that will be used. The well known shish kebab is one of the most popular delicacies, grilled over charcoal they are a delicious delicacies which must be tried!

Turkish cuisine is an infusion of flavours from the east and west, a holiday in Turkey would not be the same without venturing to one of the local restaurants and taking in some of the succulent tastes and aromas. For the less adventurous palate, Turkey is home to a wide range of international restaurants including some well know fast food chains!
